Some New Iberia residents are coming together to spread some happiness this Easter week.
Pastor David Denton of Highland Baptist Christian Church recently challenged his congregation to build a cross from whatever materials were available at their homes and place it in their yard. He asked that they share photos of their crosses to social media using the hashtag #projectcross.
Community member Ashley Sumrall said the project has been "heartwarming in the midst of all the craziness," and adds the community has come together to participate. Residents are encouraging other communities to participate as well.
