A Houston Police officer has died following a shooting Saturday in Houston's East End, KTRK reports.

According to the police department, the officer, Sgt. Christopher Brewster, was responding to a domestic disturbance just after 5:45 p.m.

KTRK reports that the Houston Police Chief says the call was from a female who advised dispatchers that her boyfriend was assaulting her and that he was armed with two weapons.

While responding, Brewster came under fire and was shot multiple times. Brewster was pronounced dead after being taken to the hospital.
