Hot, humid weather with a few more showers

Posted
and last updated

A slight change to the forecast Tuesday with the introduction of a few more showers, but for the most part the weather will roll along as it tends to do in mid August.

Temperatures are expected to once again push up into the mid 90s, with a heat index around 100 to go along with it, and not much of a cool down with lows only dropping into the mid to upper 70s.

This comes with plenty of sunshine on the day although a few more tropical clouds will be drifting across the area along with a thunderstorm or two in the afternoon.

Rain chances will sit around 30% and that number will creep up over the next couple of days with scattered showers becoming more prominent through the back half of the work week.

The tropics continue to show signs of activity with two different waves in the central Atlantic Basin, one is expected to become Josephine and the other is rolling off the African Coastline currently.

Neither of these waves seem to pose any immediate threat to Acadiana but instead are another reminder that the tropics really start to heat up in the later half of August, which is now right around the corner.
