Heat continues for another day

The intense heat of the last several days will continue on Tuesday, keeping the Heat Advisory going for all of south Louisiana until 8:00 p.m.

While the afternoon highs will sit in the mid 90s, the heat index values will be pushing into the 107-112 range by the end of the day putting us in similar territory to Monday.

This will come with mostly sunny skies, although a slight increase in moisture means that a pop up shower, while not likely, will certainly be possible later in the afternoon.

In fact moisture will be on the rise here in Acadiana which means that rain chances will slowly creep up with widely scattered showers expected on Thursday.

The rain later this week should break this mini heat wave, and while it'll certainly still be hot it won't be as intense by the end of the work week.

A surge of tropical moisture will be coming in from the east next week which means we may have some more sustained shower chances in our near future.
