Acadiana got it's first freeze of 2021 Tuesday mornings as temperatures dropped with clear skies after an impressive front pushed it's way through the region.

Skies will stay clear through the first half of the day, but despite the sunshine temperatures are going to struggle with highs only sitting in the low 50s, with a wind chill in the 40s.

Winds will be out of the north around 5-10 mph through the rest of the day, just enough to keep the wind chill subdued through the remainder of the day.

Once we get into the late afternoon clouds will start to drift back into the area with mostly clouds skies expected by the evening and sticking around through the overnight hours.

This is going to keep temperatures slightly above freezing Wednesday morning, but ultimately it'll stay fairly chilly through the middle of the week.

The rest of the work week looks quiet with temperatures staying in the 50s through the next several days before another cool down coming up over the weekend.
