Franklin Police Chief addresses scam phone calls

FRANKLIN — If you have received a phone call from a Franklin number in regards to an arrest, it is likely a scam.

Police Chief Morris Beverly released a public notice on Tuesday saying the the Social Security Administration will not contact you via phone call.

The robocall claims that claims that the SSA is issuing a warrant for your arrest and to not hang up. Scammers are also telling people to provide personal information.

Chief Beverly says to ignore those calls. If you have any questions regarding your Social Security, you should contact your local office.
