Former LSU infielder DJ LeMahieu hit .376 this summer for the New York Yankees, winning his second career batting title.

LeMahieu, who won the 2016 National League Batting Title with the Colorado Rockies, is the first player since 1900 to win a title in both the AL and NL.

The second basemen ht .367, knocking in 27 RBI and driving 10 home runs.

"I don't think it's really sank in yet," he said following the Yankees 5-0 season finale loss to the Marlins. "It's really cool. I wish it was over 162 games, I wish there were fans in the stands but it is what it is and I'm really proud of it."

LeMahieu played for the Tigers from 2008-2009. He is a three time all star.

The Yankees play the Cleveland Indians in the opening round of the postseason Tuesday
