VILLE PLATTE, L.a. — A 19-year-old has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a child.
Nathan Ben, 19, was booked with criminal negligence and negligent homicide.
Police were called to the 700 block of North Thompson Street Thursday night. They found a three-year-old girl had been shot. Officers took the child to a local hospital, and from there she was transported to a hospital in Baton Rouge, where she died, police say.
The warrant was obtained for Ben on Friday. He remains in the parish jail in lieu of a $175,000 bond.
