It's a wintry start to the week with clouds locked in across Acadiana and temperatures remaining well below average through the rest of the day.

While showers will wrap up early in the morning the clouds will take much longer to break so don't expect a whole lot of sunshine or warming Monday.

Highs will remain in the low 40s through the rest of the day but because the winds are going to be blustery the wind chill is going to sit in the 30s even in the afternoon.

It'll take a little while but eventually the skies will clear late Monday night and the lows will fall below freezing and with a slight breeze continuing into Tuesday the wind chill is going to be in the 20s.

The rest of the week doesn't look too bad, it'll stay chilly outside but the skies will clear on Tuesday and there will be plenty of sunshine over the next several days.

As we go through the week temperatures will slowly warm up, eventually getting back into the 50s and 60s, and lows will be back above freezing by the middle of the week.
