NEW ORLEANS (AP) - Federal prosecutors in New Orleans have charged a Louisiana woman with fraud in connection with a scheme to drug and steal from prostitution customers - including one who died after being drugged.
The charges were filed Wednesday against 30-year-old Dominique Alaina Berry of Kentwood. A bill of information filed in federal court Wednesday says Berry and another person identified by the initials R.S. traveled around the country, arranging prostitution meetings for Berry. It says they drugged and stole valuables from at least 50 people. One was a suburban New Orleans man found dead at his home in February 2017.
It was unclear whether Berry, who was arrested later on state charges in Georgia, will face charges in the death. The charges filed Wednesday include bank and wire fraud.
