The Slidell Police Department has brought PetSmart's "all animals" policy to a whole new (tall) level.
A video posted to the SPD's Facebook page shows the department's Mounted Division "bringing community policing/criminal patrol to a whole new level" visiting the local PetSmart.
The post says that the duo of Officer Robert "Mongo" Crowell and his horse Misfit, and Officer Eldon Juneau and his horse Chesney, have been busy patrolling the shopping center over the last few weeks to deter crime during the busy holiday shopping season.
Officer Crowell and Misfit went inside the store, while Officer Juneau and Chesney stayed outside to watch over the parking lot. The video shows Crowell and Misfit browsing aisles, visiting the toy section, and allowing shocked visitors to pet and take photos of the horse.
The Police Department added a note to the bottom of the post, saying "yes, PetSmart policy is accommodating to ALL ANIMALS, as long as they are leashed."
