As Hurricane Delta passes the region, the recovery process will once again commence. According to the Louisiana State Urban Search and Rescue Task Force, we’re not alone in the process.

Crews from Ohio, Indiana, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Missouri, Florida, Texas and Tennessee are in the area. These crews are serving as secondary responders to emergency and law enforcement agencies. These forces will also conduct secondary searches to ensure no one is trapped.

According to the Louisiana State Urban Search and Rescue Task Force, the 550 responders in the state are specialized in structural collapse search and rescue with water recure training and assets.

Many of these same crews were in the state for the week following Hurricane Sally. Their impact was profound.

These crews searched thousands of homes, and even assisted in rescuing pets amid the damage from Hurricane Sally.
