A change of hearing plea is now scheduled for Holden Matthews, the man accused of setting fire to three historic black churches in St. Landry Parish.

Matthews originally pleaded not guilty, but following negotiations, a hearing has been set for February 10 in Lafayette, according to court documents.

He was indicted last year by a federal jury on six counts: three counts of intentional damage to a religious facility and three counts using fire to commit a felony.

Matthews is the son of a St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Deputy.
