The Louisiana Army National Guard's 832nd Engineer Detachment, 528th Engineer Battalion, 225th Engineer Brigade, based in Plaquemine, held a deployment ceremony in Plaquemine Wednesday morning.
The 832nd is sending 50 Louisiana Guardsmen to Iraq for 9-12 months to support ongoing operations with general engineering and construction assets.
Families hugged their soldiers following the ceremony. KATC's Katie Easter was there for the deployment and will have more at 10pm.
