The right and left lanes of I-10 East near Lobdell are open after a overturned 18-wheeler closed the roadway early on Monday morning.
According to WBRZ, the 18-wheeler is carrying a flammable substance and the incident, which occurred around 4 am, was being treated as a HAZMAT situation. The substance is not believed to be leaking.
The right shoulder of the roadway is currently blocked just before LA 415 (Lobdell).
DOTD says that the 18-wheeler will be removed from the shoulder at 8:30 am. Motorists should expect the roadway to close again while the vehicle is being removed.
Congestion caused by the incident was at 4 miles in length.
The right and left lanes are open on I-10 East before LA 415 (Lobdell) leaving the right shoulder blocked. The tractor trailer will be removed from the shoulder at approximately 8:30 AM. Congestion has reached approximately four miles in length.
