The NOPD says that their officers are working two active and unrelated incidents in the Eighth District.

One is a reported bomb threat at the intersection of Saint Ann and Decatur Streets. Police report that a suspicious device had been found at the location.

Mayor Latoya Cantrell confirmed via twitter that the NOPD was responding to a bomb threat in the French Quarter.

The mayor says that police activity has closed a portion of Decatur Street near Jackson Square.

The other incident is of a barricaded subject in the 500 block of Dauphine Street.

Officers are asking the public to avoid both locations while police activity is ongoing.
