New Orleans officials are close to finalizing plans to mitigate crowd sizes as Carnival season ramps up.
Mayor LaToya Cantrell says specifics will be announced Friday morning, according to WDSU.
Limits on takeout drinks and road closures are being discussed.
The announcement will come after videos of crowds on Bourbon Street went viral over the weekend, WDSU reports.
Governor Edwards said Thursday that he plans to send assistance to help New Orleans prevent Carnival from becoming a super spreader event, including officers and agents from Louisiana State Police, the State Fire Marshal's Office, and ATC, according to WWL-TV.
