A family support fund has been established in memory of the New Orleans nurse who died Tuesday, March 31 from COVID-19.

New Orleans East Hospital has established the Larrice Anderson Family Support fund to memorialize the nurse who worked at the hospital since August 2018.

According to the website, she was most recently working in the Intensive Care Unit.

"In her capacity, she cared for our sickest patients and was dedicated to her profession and those to whom she tended," the website reads.

"While we see the number of cases and deaths across Louisiana continue to increase, Larrice is more than a number. She was a valued friend, she was a wonderful mother of two children, a valued care provider working hard to save her community and a friend to many."
