An LSU alum is a proud member of the team at NASA who successfully landed the Perseverance rover on Mars Thursday.
Dr. Keith Comeaux is the Deputy Chief Engineer for NASA's Mars 2020 rover mission at the agency's Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Comeaux posted a photo from Mission Control with the hashtag 'it's geaux time' - spelled 'geaux,' of course.
Perseverance launched last July and traveled more than 290 million miles to reach Mars. The mission will attempt to convert martian carbon dioxide into oxygen.
