Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions

The International Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo Board has announced that the annual event has been postponed due to COVID-19 restrictions.

This year's event was scheduled to happen scheduled to take place on July 23 – 25, 2020. Officials say the Rodeo Board made the decision with the health and safety of workers and attendees in mind.

The Jefferson Parish Administration and Jefferson Parish Council are in support the decision and will assist event organizers in rescheduling this event at a later date, a release states.

The International Grand Isle Tarpon Rodeo began in 1928. The Rodeo is usually held during the last weekend in July.

No rescheduled date has been announced.
