Gov Edwards responds to AG Landry's letter on face mask mandate

In a letter sent on Thursday, Gov. John Bel Edwards responded to Attorney General Jeff Landry’s letter about the Governor’s recent proclamation mandating face masks.

Edwards, in the letter, states that everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but not their own facts. Along with a written response to Landry. Edwards included a number of fact sheets and graphics containing COVID-19 data for the state.

Landry was unable to be in attendance while Vice President Mike Pence was in town Tuesday July 14. He is currently quarantined after testing positive for coronavirus. Read more here. Edwards says that if he was in attendance, he believes Landry would have received answers to the questions he posed in his opinion.
