UPDATE: Attorney General Jeff Landry will be issuing an official AG opinion regarding Gov. Edward's recent mask mandate Wednesday morning, Landry announced this evening on Twitter.

The opinion will come after Landry's office confirmed in a statement to KATC that the Attorney General has tested positive for COVID-19.

Here's the statement:

"Out of an overabundance of caution with the Vice President coming to our State, the Attorney General was tested for the Coronavirus. Though experiencing no symptoms, he tested positive for COVID-19. The Attorney General is quarantining, taking medications prescribed by his doctor, and remaining asymptomatic. He has contacted those with whom he came in contact. His work as Attorney General has been uninterrupted; and Jeff Landry will continue his efforts to protect Louisiana's families, freedoms, and the rule of law."
