Firefighters in Chalmette are battling a a fire at the Domino Sugar Refinery.
According to nola.com, the refinery caught fire around 4:30 pm and a shelter in place order for St. Bernard Parish residents in the area was put in place.
Nola.com reports that the smoke and flames have died down slightly. A cause for the fire was not yet determined.
