The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says that crews are continuing to close bays of the Bonnet Carre Spillway.
A total of 42 bays were closed on Wednesday, July 24 and crews are expected to continuing work on Thursday to close more of the open bays.
The Army Corps says that, as of Thursday morning, 94 bays of the structure remain open. 168 bays were opened for the operation.
Closing of the bays began on Tuesday, July 22.
