An arrest has been made in the shooting death of a former Baton Rouge police officer on Sunday.

Craig Willis, 29, is facing second degree murder charges for the shooting death of Ryan Hord.

According to police, Hord attempted to stop Willis from stealing a car.

A shoot out began between the two, and Hord was killed during that exchange.

Willis is also facing charges for burglary and being a felon in possession of a firearm.

WBRZ reports the incident took place only hours after two Baton Rouge police officers were shot on Sunday.
