On Thursday, Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry's reelection campaign blamed a technical issue for text messages sent to thousands of mobile phones across the state in the early morning hours.
The text message were supposed to arrive between 1 pm and 7 pm on Wednesday, according to a campaign spokesperon.
The network used to send the text messages got jammed, leading to a blast of texts after the cutoff time.
About 15% of the numbers on the campaign's phone list received the delayed texts in the late night into the early morning hours, according to The Advocate.
