State Police say that a Dallas woman was killed Sunday afternoon in an 18-wheeler crash in Rapides Parish.
Troopers say that 55-year-old Shawn Richardson was killed when she lost control of her 18-wheeler on Hwy 71.
A preliminary investigation revealed that Richardson was traveling southbound when her 2012 Freightliner exited the right side of the roadway and overturned.
Richardson was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash but was pronounced dead at the scene.
Routine toxicology tests are currently pending. The crash is still under investigation.
