Lieutenant Gov. Billy Nungesser gets $8,400 added to his annual salary to drive his personal vehicle for work. But sources who have worked in his Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism say they have rarely, if ever, seen him drive himself, WWL reports.

The New Orleans television station posted an extensive report that looks at Nungesser’s activities and expenses via public records requests and interviews – and even following the official to compare his movements to the calendar his office produced in response to a public records request.

WWL reports that the trooper drove Nungesser to several fundraisers and other meetings related to his campaign. When questioned, Nungesser said that was appropriate.
