A Rapides Parish motorcyclist was killed Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash on LA Hwy 496 in the parish.
The crash claimed the life of 28-year-old Aaron L. Arthur of Woodworth, LA.
According to State Police, Arthur was traveling westbound on LA Hwy 496, just west of LA Hwy 3054, when he lost control of his vehicle and exited the right side of the roadway. The vehicle traveled down an embankment before striking some tree debris. Troopers say Arthur was ejected from the motorcycle and received fatal injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say Arthur was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation and toxicology tests are pending.
