Troopers are asking for help in locating a Chevrolet that hit and killed a pedestrian in St. John the Baptist Parish Saturday morning.
The crash happened sometime Friday night or early Saturday on La. 628 near Clement Drive. Danny Simoneaux, 55, of LaPlace, died at the scene.
Troopers say the vehicle was one of the following:
- 1999-2002 Chevrolet Silverado
- 2000-2006 Chevrolet Tahoe
- 2000-2007 Chevrolet Suburban
The suspect vehicle will have damage to its right headlight, right bumper area and hood, trooper say.

Troopers say Simoneaux was walking in or near the west bound lane of LA 628 sometime during the night and was struck by an unknown vehicle. Evidence was collected from the scene, which helped Troopers narrow down the type of vehicle.
