Former Alabama football coach shot in hunting accident

Former Alabama Crimson Tide Head Football Coach Mike DuBose accidentally shot himself in a hunting related accident sources told WDHN News.

His condition is unknown at this time, the station reports.

Sources also added DuBose is being airlifted to a Dothan area hospital from Mizell Memorial Hospital in Opp.

DuBose led Alabama to the 1999 SEC Championship and an appearance in the Orange Bowl. He was the head coach from 1997 to 2000. He was an assistant coach at Alabama under Gene Stallings and was a star linebacker under Coach Paul “Bear” Bryant.
