COVID-19: State update - 209,914 cases and 6,184 deaths

As of November 18, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 2,239 and the number of deaths had increased by 28, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Of these cases, LDH says that 1,310 are confirmed cases and 929 are probable cases.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 209,914 and the number of deaths is 6,184 as of Wednesday.

LDH says that the collection dates for most of these cases fall between November 10 and November 17, 2020. And 99 percent of the cases reported to the state Wednesday were community spread and 1 percent of the cases reported to the state Wednesday were in congregate settings

LDH reports that 185,960 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 11/16/20).

Since Tuesday, 22,771 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 3,156,670. These total tests have been broken down into 3,076,917 molecular and 79,753 antigen tests.

As of Wednesday, 886 patients were hospitalized (up 12 from Tuesday), 93 of those patients were on ventilators (up 1 from Tuesday).

According to LDH data for the number of Region 4 - Acadiana, hospitalizations on Oct. 17 were at 45 while hospitalizations were at 101 on Nov. 17, which marks a 124% increase for the last month.

Since Tuesday, 308 Acadiana residents have tested positive, and 3 have died.

As of November 17, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 2,592 and the number of deaths had increased by 17, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

Of these cases, LDH says that 2,139 are confirmed cases and 453 are probable cases.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 207,685 and the number of deaths is 6,156 as of Tuesday.

LDH has also begun reporting new antigen test data in Friday's numbers update, read more.

LDH reports that 176,107 patients are "presumed recovered." (These numbers are normally updated on Mondays. The last update was on 11/12/20).

Since Monday, 33,422 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 3,133,899. These total tests have been broken down into 3,060,304 molecular and 73,595 antigen tests.

As of Monday, 874 patients were hospitalized (up 56 from Monday), 92 of those patients were on ventilators (up 11 from Monday).

Since Monday, 747 Acadiana residents have tested positive, and 4 have died.
