COVID-19: State update - 149,838 cases and 4,841 deaths

As of September 2, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 972 and the number of deaths had increased by 20, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 149,838 and 4,841 deaths as of Wednesday.

LDH says that the collection dates for most of these cases fall between August 25 and September 1, 2020. 88 percent of the cases reported to the state on Wednesday were community spread.

LDH reports that 134,432 patients are "presumed recovered." (last update 8/31/20).

14,058 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 1,903,883.

According to LDH, 873 people are currently hospitalized (down 37 from Tuesday), and 132 of those are on ventilators (up 4 from Tuesday).

FROM Tuesday:

As of September 1, the number of coronavirus cases reported in Louisiana increased by 667 and the number of deaths had increased by 34, according to the Louisiana Department of Health.

The total number of cases in the state is now at 148,882 and 4,821 deaths as of Tuesday.

LDH reports that 127,918 patients are "presumed recovered." (last update 8/24/20).

Since Monday, 17,036 new tests have been reported to the state, bringing the total number of tests to 1,889,825.

According to LDH, 910 people are currently hospitalized (up 29 from Monday), and 128 of those are on ventilators (down 4 from Monday).
