Man recovering after cane knife attack

VERMILION PARISH, La. – A man is behind bars after attacking another man with a cane knife.

On April 10, 2019, the 51-year-old victim was brought into the Abbeville General Hospital Emergency Room for medical attention for multiple lacerations on his neck, arms and legs resulting from an altercation in Intracoastal City, according to Vermilion Parish Sheriff Mike Couvillon.  The suspect was identified as Hoang Dinh.

Through the course of the investigation, it was determined that during the altercation the suspect attacked the victim with a large cane knife causing the injuries to the victim, stated Couvillion.

On April 12, 2019, the suspect was able to be located and arrested on one count of attempted second-degree murder.

Hoang Dinh was booked into the Vermilion Parish Jail and is currently being held on a $150,000 bond.
