SLCC’s Corporate College will host a Maritime industry job fair on Wednesday, June 26 at the Young Memorial Campus in Morgan City.
The job fair will be held from 9:00 am to 12:00 pm.
Local companies will meet with and hire job seekers for the following positions: riggers, welders, deckhands, vessel mates or captains, able seamen, fitters, tackers, electricians, engineers, and other skilled tradesmen.
The event is free and open to the public. Job seekers can pre-register for the job fair online. SLCC says those who attend should dress professionally and bring copies of their work history and industry certifications.
Companies can participate in the job fair at no charge. SLCC says the only requirement for businesses is that they have current job openings or job openings within the next 60 days in the maritime industry. Business registration must be completed online before June 19.
Acadian Contractors, Bollinger Shipyards LLC, Central Boats, Candy Fleet, Kirby Corporation, and Laborde Marine LLC are among the companies that will be represented at the event.
