A Morgan City man was arrested on drug charges Wednesday following a short vehicle pursuit through the city.

Police say they were notified by the Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office of a vehicle fleeing from deputies and heading toward the Morgan City area.
The vehicle entered the city limits and police say they attempted to stop it in the area of Victor II Blvd and Clothilde Street. The vehicle continued onward and police pursued.
The vehicle and its driver, identified as 26-year-old Chad Allen Ross, Jr. of Morgan City, finally came to a stop in the driveway of a residence on East Garner Street.
Police say Ross was found to be in possession of Methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and $4,400 in counterfeit money.
Ross was arrested and booked into the Morgan City Jail on the following charges:
- Reckless Operation
- Flight from an Officer
- Possession of Methamphetamine
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Monetary Instrument Abuse
The Assumption Parish Sheriff’s Office has placed a hold on Ross for charges pending in their jurisdiction.
