Five suspects in Franklin fight turn selves in, six others still wanted

The Franklin Police Department says that five of the eleven people wanted in connection with a Mardi Gras Day fight in Franklin have turned themselves in to police.

Warrants were issued for eleven suspects on Wednesday for their alleged involvement in a fight in the 400 block of Martin Luther King Drive.

A video of the fight was posted to social media. Police say they were able to develop suspects based on that video.

Five of the suspects turned themselves in on Wednesday and were booked, processed, and released on bond. Those suspects and their charges include:

  • Shontranice McDaniel, 23, – disturbing the peace by fighting and obstruction of a public passage. McDaniel was booked, processed, and released on a $500.00 bond.
  • Devontre Phillips, 19, of Baldwin – disturbing the peace by fighting and obstruction of a public passage. Phillips was booked, processed, and released on a $500.00 bond.
  • Bernard Davis, Jr., 21, of Franklin – disturbing the peace by fighting and obstruction of a public passage. Davis was booked, processed, and released on a $500.00 bond.
  • Jamarlon Smith, 23, of Franklin – disturbing the peace and obstruction of a public passage. Smith was booked, processed, and released on a $500.00 bond.
  • Larry Smith, 24, of  Franklin – disturbing the peace by fighting. Smith was booked, processed, and released on a $250.00 bond.

Six other suspects are still wanted by the department in connection with the fight.

  • Lazin McDaniel Jr.- 22- Illegal use of weapons and dangerous instrumentalities, Disturbing the Peace, Obstruction of public passage.
  • DeQuindric Freeman-18- Disturbing the peace by fighting, Obstruction of public passage
  • Keindra McDaniel-35- Disturbing the peace, Obstruction of public passage, Simple Battery*
  • Daezhone Baker-24- Disturbing the peace by fighting, Obstruction of public passage
  • Lazon McDaniel-21- Disturbing the peace, Obstruction of public passage
  • Dereke Guilbeau-22- Disturbing the peace by fighting, Obstruction of public passage
