Morgan City Police Department is investigating a shooting on Orange Street that occurred Monday morning.
The Police Department was called out to the scene on Orange Street at around 10:00 a.m.
One person was injured in this shooting. they sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Police are still investigating.
As a precaution Maitland Elementary and Immanuel Christian school were placed on lockdown. Those lockdowns were lifted after the scene was cleared.
Police report that all children are safe and officers were stationed at the schools during that time.
