Man wanted in Franklin stabbings turns self in

A 28-year-old Baldwin man wanted for allegedly stabbing two people has turned himself in to authorities on Tuesday.

Darrell Harris A.K.A. Chris Lemon was wanted for two counts of attempted second-degree murder, according to police. On November 3, 2018, officers responded to a complaint of a fight with weapons in the area of Carl C. Foulcard Drive in Franklin. Police say that several victims arrived at a local hospital with stab wounds because of the alleged fight.

KATC spoke with the wife of one of the injured victims. She said that her husband was attempting to stop the fight between Harris and another man when he was stabbed. Her husband was treated at a local hospital.

The second victim was stabbed multiple times and was also treated at a local hospital.

Through an investigation, Harris was developed as a suspect.

Harris was booked into the St. Mary Parish Jail on charges of attempted second-degree murder (two counts) and possession of a firearm or carrying a concealed weapon by a person convicted of a felony.

Bail was set at $700,000.
