A Franklin woman was arrested after allegedly intervening in an investigation and kicking a St. Mary Parish deputy in the face while being arrested.
Deputies say that on November 3, 2018, they observed a vehicle pulling out in front of another vehicle. They attempted to make a traffic stop which led to a police pursuit. St. Mary deputies say they followed the vehicle to Bray Street in Franklin where they located the driver 34-year-old Travis Zeno.
A second deputy patrolling the area responded to help deputies in the chase. Upon reaching the scene the deputy made contact with a woman, identified as 32-year-old Shana Jones, after she arrived at the home.
Jones according to deputies began obstructing the investigation. Because of this, Jones was arrested. Deputies say that as she was being arrested, Jones allegedly kicked the deputy in the face.
Zeno and Jones were transported to the St. Mary Law Enforcement Center for booking.
Zeno was released on a $15,000 bond.
No bond was set for Jones.
