The St. Mary Parish Sheriff’s Office has released more information on the shooting that occurred Wednesday night in Baldwin.
Police say the incident occurred in the 1000 block of Chitimatcha Trail around 4:30 pm on Wednesday. Deputies say that 39-year-old Martin Willis was arrested after he allegedly shot at a suspect during an attempted home invasion.
Willis was booked on charges of possession of an illegal firearm. He was released from the St. Mary Parish Jail after posting a $2,500 bond.
Deputies say the intruder is still being treated for injuries. The investigation is ongoing and other charges are pending.
