The benefit planned for the family involved in a fatal crash earlier this month has been postponed until October because of inclement weather.

The fundraiser will take place at Franklin Senior High School on Oct. 13 from 10 a.m. – 7 p.m.

On August 7, Abbie Sintiere, of Franklin, was driving her four kids home from shopping when they were hit by an alleged drunk driver on U.S. 90. Abbie, her unborn child, and 1-year-old son died in the crash.

Three of the four children survived the crash with significant injuries. The family’s 9-year-old is currently receiving treatment at a New Orleans hospital.

Organizers intend the benefit to help the Sintiere family with medical and additional costs.

There will be food, a raffle and a silent auction. There will also be an opening ceremony and balloon release at 11 a.m.

Tet’ Dur’ will be performing from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m., followed by The Bayou Classics with Johnny Chauvin from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.

Franklin Senior High School is located at 1401 Cynthia Street in Franklin.

KATC’s Dannielle Garcia spoke with the father, Chris Sintere, earlier this month.
