Longtime Morgan City Police Officer dies

Longtime Morgan City Police officer, Assistant Chief Junius Crochet, has died.

Morgan City Police Chief James F. Blair and the Morgan City Police Department formally announced Crochet’s passing today.

“Assistant Chief Junius J. Crochet served the citizens of Morgan City and the Morgan City Police Department for more than two decades, retiring as Assistant Chief of Police after 25 years of service,” the Chief’s announcement states.

Visitation will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church on Friday, August 17, 2018 beginning at 9:00 a.m. with a Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at the Morgan City Cemetery.

“We would like to offer our condolences and prayers to his family during this difficult time,” the chief wrote.
