Sandbags for lower St. Martin Parish will no longer be distributed.
Parish officials, including the OEP Director, met Wednesday morning to evaluate current high water issues in Stephensville and Belle River.
Over 67,000 bags of sand have been distributed and 0.5 of a mile of poly pipe has been placed in those areas, according to officials.
Because of this, pre-filled bags will no longer be distributed. Sand and bags, however, will continue to be available for self-service to residents who need them.
On Friday, St. Martin Parish government says the situation will again be assessed to determine the proper course of action for the weekend.
