Herbert Nezat Jr., 54, was booked with multiple aggravated child sex charges. His bond has been set at $10,000.

According to Sheriff Bobby Guidroz, Nezat was arrested back in May on aggravated child sex charges and released on $30,000 bond. The victims in those incidents say they were younger than 13 and Nezat was over the age of 18 at the time of the incidents.

When Nezat was questioned by St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office detectives in May, he allegedly admitted to sexually numerous victims decades ago. Not all of his victims have come forward, the sheriff said.

In June, another victim came forward and a warrant was issued for Nezat’s arrest in that case. He turned himself in on Tuesday and was booked into the St. Landry Parish jail.

“According to Louisiana Revised Statutes, if a sexual crime occurs when the victim is a juvenile, the alleged incident can be reported to a law enforcement agency up to thirty (30) years after the juvenile becomes an adult,” Guidroz says.
