PORT BARRE, La. – Children in Port Barre are learning how to stay safe.
Police officers are holding a program this week to teach the kids self-defense, anti-bullying and first-aid.
They’ll hold a completion ceremony on Saturday.
“The Wildlife and Fisheries will be coming do a class with them, State Police is going to be coming to do a class with them we just reach out to our youth to make them better mentoring showing them what is out there and what not to do and what to do,” said Dawn Quebedeaux, Secretary to the Port Barre Chief of Police.
