Officials with Entergy say they are wrapping up work on a substation in St. Landy Parish following a failure Friday morning. That failure has left customers without power for more than 16 hours.
A spokesperson with the company says that crews are making a few more repairs and should be finished in about two hours. If no failures happen after work is complete, customers should see power restored in 3 hours.
Currently, there are around 600 or fewer customers out in the parish.
At around 6:00 p.m. Entergy said that power has been restored to a few hundred customers, but almost 700 were still without power.
At the time, Entergy said they had the equipment necessary to begin working on fixing the issue and they hope to be back up and running by tonight.
The time frame for power restoration has shifted throughout the day.
Starting at around 5:40 a.m. Friday, more than 1,000 people were without power in St. Landry Parish
Crews are working in Grand Coteau to make repairs. A bushing failure at a substation this morning left many in the Sunset and Grand Coteau area without power.
