Boats speeding along two St. Landry Parish waterways are causing water to enter into residents home and camps.

The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office says they have been receiving complaints around the Bayou Courtableu and Darbonne Bay area concerning boat speeds.

The water, according to St. Landry Officials, is high in that area and boaters passing at high speeds are causing water to get into homes and camps. They say the water is also causing water damage to those buildings.

“If everyone could be mindful of the water level and adjust their speeds accordingly, we can all enjoy the fun and beauty our waterways,” the Sheriff’s Office said.
