Opelousas Police arrested five for simple burglary following an investigation Wednesday night.
Police say they were called to a burglary complaint around 6:30 pm in the 300 block of Pine Ave on Wednesday. Surveillance video reviewed at the scene allegedly captured five juvenile suspects going into the residence. Police did not say if the juveniles removed anything from the residence.
The suspects were identified with the help of the surveillance video and residents, according to police. Police say that all five were charged with simple burglary and released to their guardians.
Some of the suspects were reportedly involved in other burglaries over the past several weeks.
