Eunice teens accused of robbery

EUNICE, La. – Two Eunice teens were arrested after they were involved in an armed robbery.

Jayden Blaize Bushnell and Heath Lane Belton, both 17 of Eunice, were arrested Sunday night on multiple robbery charges.

Officers responded to the 1300 block of West Peach about a gun threat, according to Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot.

Belton had allegedly demanded money from the victim and pointed a gun at him. Chief Fontenot stated that Belton’s arm was slapped by the victim during the robbery attempt and the gun discharged striking the floor. Bushnell was identified as an accomplice in the incident.

An NCIC check revealed the gun was reported stolen on March 25, 2019.

Heath Belton was arrested on charges of attempted armed robbery, obstruction of justice and illegal possession of stolen firearm.

Jayden Bushnell was arrested on charges of principal to attempted armed robbery, obstruction of justice, illegal possession of stolen firearm.

No injuries were reported, added Fontenot.
